Busy Busy Busy

Its our babies 25th week today. If they decide to come slightly early, we might even see them in 10 weeks time. Am I ready? Certainly not! I think I can never be ready. Its all going to be OJT (On the Job). I was looking through the facebook page on Twin Babies Sg and seen a lot of tough experiences of those twins mummies. One thing certain is Felin and I are going to be extremely "Busy Busy Busy"... I'm expecting to go with little sleep and gone are the days where I can have long nap and 8 straight hours of sleep. Sleep and prolonged rest are going to be luxury. I'm really worried on how it will affect my work and whether we are able to cope with the twin babies. Not to even mention if I ever have chance to spend time writing on blog like what I'm doing now.

I'm really "Busy Busy Busy" with work lately too. Cases opened in the past are not properly followed up and some became cold and forgotten. I don't know whether they had decided not to do anything to their finances or they had taken plans through other people. Many administrative work, difficult underwriting issues, numerous claims, research and preparation for my first ever seminar with me as speaker etc... and making me busy. It can't stop me wondering how I am able to handle all these when the babies arrive.

I have 10 more weeks to think what I need to do to ensure life be better when they arrive. I may need to learn delegating my work to my admin staff in office or to find domestic help at home. I need to be more productive. I need to put in the right attitude to handle the babies, etc... I think the most important is to build up my spiritual muscles and rest all on the Lord...

So whats happening to the babies at week 25? Lets see how Josiah and Joshua are doing...

Baby's Lungs Are Gearing Up to Breathe
Your baby is growing by leaps and bounds, reaching nine inches in length and passing the pound and a half mark — taller than two juice boxes stacked one on top of the other and almost as heavy as four of them. What else is going on this week? Your baby's skin is turning pinker — not because he or she's getting overheated (in fact, the amniotic fluid is perfectly climate-controlled, keeping your baby at an always comfortable temperature), but because small blood vessels, called capillaries, are forming under the skin and filling with blood. Later this week, blood vessels will also develop in your baby's lungs, bringing them one step closer to full maturity — and one step closer to taking that first breath of fresh air. But at 25 weeks pregnant, those lungs are still very much works in progress. Though they are already beginning to develop surfactant, a substance that will help them expand with oxygen after the baby is born, the lungs are still too undeveloped to sufficiently send oxygen to the bloodstream and release carbon dioxide when baby exhales.

Baby’s Nostrils Open
The lungs aren't the only system that's gearing up for air intake. Your baby's nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open this week. This actually allows your little one to begin taking practice breaths. (Of course since there's no air in there, your baby is really only "breathing" amniotic fluid, but it's the practice that counts, right?)
